Recap of Blockchain meetup #4
RECAP OF MEETUP #4
Tuesday June 26th we had our fourth ‘blockchain knowledge exchange’ meetup. During this edition we got great insight by 3 speakers on how blockchain technology can be applied. It’s hard to summarize an evening in just a few words but this page gives an overview of what happened.
During this blockchain meetup
We had Joris Hoogeboom from Pau who onboards companies to blockchain explaining what he does and show us a live demo of a blockchain connected power plug. Our second speaker, Jeffrey Middelbos from Farmatrust, told us more on their global tracking system for medical drugs. After a break and a drink in downstairs cafe ‘De Zwarte Doos’ we continued to our third and last speaker of the evening. Wietse Wind, who is well-known in the XRP twitter community, gave us an inspiring presentation on some of the ins and outs of building software on the XRP ledger.
Wietse Wind: building software on the XRP ledger (video recording)
We recorded Wietse his presentation on video for people that could not meet us in Eindhoven. He also shared his slides, useful links and code snibbets on GitHub for you to get started: https://gist.github.com/WietseWind/1e9779e3a2977bbac014240769830a7b

Who are we?
Our vision is to create a community, bring together people and foster discussions around blockchain. We “bridge” people in blockchain tech, cryptocurrencies, socially and in business to create a room for discussions and sharing.
Our blockchain think tank is based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. We are open for collaboration and always looking for interesting projects and speakers.
Help us grow the crypto community
We are a non-profit organization that is run by volunteers but that doesn’t mean we are not ambitious in our plans! Please help us grow so we can facilitate more events, attract international speakers and continue to expand a sustainable blockchain knowledge community.
Pay with cash or crypto?
We offered our attendees the opportunity to pay the event fee of € 5.- cash in euro or in 6 different forms on cryptocurrency. Of course we hope that ease of crypto payments for us and participants will increase and become so safe and smooth that for future events we don’t even need cash-exchange or a money-box.
What’s next
Of course the holidays are next; beach, sun, festivals and relaxation. That doesn’t mean we are going to sit still and refresh our blockfolio all day long… We have multiple events coming up for which we will invite you via our meetup group and posts on this website. Here’s what’s next:
- Social event “crypto pubcrawl” on friday 27th July (read more)
- Blockchain meetup #5 somewhere in September
- Workshop TA (technical analysis) by Cas Koeleman who was a speaker on our third meetup
